THE LÁCTEOS MAROFA
Lácteos Marofa was founded with the main purpose of revitalizing and bringing life back to the cheese and dairy products production industry based in Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo.
Optimizing the milk production structure in the territory, interacting with the local community, universities, networks and institutional partners, dignifying the regions and promoting knowledge and R&D, are values of its Mission and an inalienable commitment of its Social Responsibility.
GEOGRAPHICAL CONTEXT
Located in the Beira Interior region, in the historic Ribacoa area bordering Spain, Lácteos Marofa is situated between the valleys of the Douro, Côa and Águeda rivers, next to the Marofa mountain range, in the municipality of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, specifically in its Castelo Rodrigo Industrial Zone.
Its proximity to the Portuguese regions of Trás-os-Montes, Alto Douro and Serra da Estrela, or the Spanish regions of Castile and León and Extremadura, gives it a unique strategic position in cross-border mobility and access to European markets.
